Multi-band world radio receiver, radio transmitter, iPod, Levanto Rosso

“During her stay in Bogota, Drebusch came across the radio programme Las voces del secuestro (engl.: voices of abduction) that sends out messages of relatives of abducted people every Sunday night between 12 am and 6 am in the hope that they reach the victims in unknown places. In the installation “Geisel-Radio” (hostage radio), consisting of a marble memorial stone, grained with red veins (Levanto Rosso), and a sound/transmitter-installation, the artist talks about this hostage radio and about how she has come to know of it.”

“In ihrer Zeit in Bogota stößt Drebusch auch auf das Radioprogramm “Las voces del secuestro” (zu dt.”Stimmen der Entführung”), das jeden Sonntag Nacht zwischen 0:00 und 6:00 Nachrichten von Angehörigen entführter Menschen sendet, in der Hoffnung, die Entführungsopfer würden diese an ihren unbekannten Aufenthaltsorten zu hören bekommen. In der Installation “Geisel-Radio”, die aus einem mit roten Adern gemaserten Marmor Gedenkstein (Levanto Rosso) und einer Sound/Sender-Installation besteht, erzählt die Künstlerin von diesem “Geisel-Radio” und davon, wie es dazu kam, dass sie von ihm erfuhr.”
